OMBAC Vs. LARFC: Summary
(Los Angeles, CA) 18 January 2003 -- The match began with the OMBAC pack putting pressure on LA in their half of the pitch. Greg Sullivan attempted a penalty kick from the left corner of the field about 22 meters out and just missed. A few minutes later at 7 minutes into the match he gave OMBAC a short lived lead of 3-0. The remainder of the half saw our make shift backline being exploited by LA experience, in particular, former Eagle Barry Williams.  LA used the wind effectively and often keeping up the pressure which lead to three trys and one converted for a 17-3 lead at the half. The second half began much like the end of the first. Injuries to Troy Mourtizen (center) and Greg Courtney (flyhalf) all but sealed OMBAC's fate. Danny Shields made a brilliant move to intercept a pass to his opposite wing for a converted try.  Late in the match, the OMBAC pack began to show its mettle with several well coordinated rucking attacks. The final score was LARFC 39 - OMBAC 10.
