Summary OMBAC I A v SM I A
Santa Monica's fowards stole two early OMBAC lineout throws and
rapidly jumped out to 12-0 lead which OMBAC could not catch up to.
Two minutes into the game Santa Monica lock Domenic Riebli stole an
OMBAC throw in from 5 meters out and touched down. The try was
converted by Cremin. Ten minutes later Reibli's back row partner
Davis stole an OMBAC throw in from 5m and touched down, Cremin,
however could not convert the try. Six minutes later Cremin added a
penalty kick.
At 35 minutes of the fist half, Santa Monica's Chris Kelley scored
SM's 3rd try, which was not converted. OMBAC battled back and and 3
minutes later center Steve Barritt touched down for an uncoverted
try in the corner of the end zone. The first half ended with SM up
20 - 5.
OMBAC was first to put points on the board in the second half when
Dave DiSorbo kicked a penalty at 9 minutes. SM was able to regain
it's momentum and answered the penalty with a converted try by John
Rudd at 13 minutes. After 17 minutes of struggle between the two
teams OMBAC prop Sean Lindersmith was able to touch down for an
unconverted try at 30 minutes.
Four minutes later, with momentum back on the OMBAC side #8 Guy
Dotan was able to score OMBAC's third try; OMBAC kicker Ryan Claros
could not make the conversion though.
With approximately 8 minutes left in the game SM wing Nathan Jones
was given a yellow card and sent off. OMBAC could not take advantage
of the situation and with one minute left to play, SM hooker Aaron
Blatt touched down for an unconverted try.
