Play Rugby With OMBAC
HOW TO JOIN THE CLUB
There are two ways to join:
- Call Coach Bing Dawson at (619) 417-6044
- Come to a
practice session
and introduce yourself
We will introduce you to OMBAC Rugby and the sport we love.
ALL ARE WELCOME
New members are always welcome at
OMBAC Rugby. This welcome is extended to experienced players, to athletes who are new to the game, to coaches and administrators, and to those who may wish to
become a spectator or become social members.
OMBAC Rugby has never discriminated on the basis of age, sex,
race, religion, color or national origin. Quite frankly, we are too busy playing rugby and having fun to be caught
up in such matters. We train, socialize and play rugby together as good friends throughout the year. Our club is truly an
athletic fraternity. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate.
NEW TO RUGBY?
Don’t worry if you have never played rugby before. The game is simple
and easy to learn. Likewise, do not worry if you are not in top physical
shape. Our coaches and experienced players will have you ready to roll
after just a few practice sessions.
OMBAC Rugby is comprised
of 4 sides at 3 levels of play:
- RSL (Rugby Super League)
- Div 1
- Div 3
This gives our players of different experience levels a much greater opportunity to compete.
EQUIPMENT AND CLUB DUES
The club provides match jerseys.
Each player must have current club rugby shorts and socks for games and
their own athletic shoes (cleats) and mouthpiece. Annual dues are
$250.00 (includes $25.00 paid to USA Rugby, our national governing
body). Various payment plans are available for those in need of
assistance and a discount may apply for early payment.
We do not "Nickel and Dime" you with additional fees due to our generous
sponsors
, who pay the vast majority of the costs of running the club.
The club operates several fundraisers
in an effort to keep individual dues affordable. Each club member is
expected to pitch in with fundraising in an effort to keep club dues low.
Fundraisers with an element of "fun" have been developed over the years to encourage member participation.
